Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Primerica Legal Protection Program?

The Primerica Legal Protection Program (PLPP) is a legal services program offered by contractual agreement between Primerica Client Services Inc. and PPL Legal Care of Canada Corporation, a subsidiary of Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc. ("LegalShield"). It provides members with access to quality legal services through a network of provider law firms for a low monthly fee.

Who provides the legal services?

Legal services are provided by a network of provider law firms across the country. These are established law firms with experienced attorneys who are familiar with handling a wide range of legal matters. When you become a member, you gain access to a dedicated provider law firm based on your location.

What legal matters are covered?

The plans cover a wide range of legal matters, including will preparation, traffic violations, document review, phone consultations, letters and phone calls on your behalf, IRS audit services, and more. Each plan offers different levels of coverage, so you can choose the one that best fits your needs.

Is there a waiting period before I can use services?

Some legal services are available immediately upon enrollment, while others may have a waiting period. For example, certain services like uncontested divorce assistance and uncontested adoption assistance typically have a 180-day waiting period from the start of your membership. Traffic assistance services usually have a 10-day waiting period.

Can I use the service for pre-existing legal issues?

Yes, you can receive advice and consultation on pre-existing issues. However, some specific services like representation may not be available for legal matters that began before your membership. Your provider law firm can advise you on what services are available for your specific situation.

What is the enrollment fee?

There is a one-time, non-refundable enrollment fee of $10 for all plans. This is in addition to your monthly or annual membership fee.
